Your Guide to the 5A State Playoff

This week marks a pinnacle of excitement for Owyhee High School as our Boys Basketball Team advances to the 5A State Boys Basketball Tournament! Every dribble, pass, and shot has led us here, and now it's our time to support our team as they aim for victory on the court.

Event Details:

• Date: Thursday, February 29

• Time: 2:00 PM

• Location: Ford Idaho Center, Nampa

How Students Can Attend:

To rally behind our team and soak in the excitement of the playoffs alongside fellow students, please adhere to the following steps to ensure your attendance is recognized officially as an activity absence:

1. Obtain an Activity Absence Form: Head to either the Attendance Office or Main Office and pick up your form. This document is crucial and serves as your ticket to an authorized absence for this epic day.

2. Parent/Guardian Signature: Before the grand day, secure a signature from your parent or guardian on this form. This step is non-negotiable and ensures your participation is acknowledged and sanctioned.

3. Turn in the Completed Form: Show up at the game and find Mr. Roy or Mr. Rice to submit your completed and signed form. Remember, timing is key! Late submissions will not be accepted, and the form must be handed in at the game itself for your activity absence to be valid.

Important Notes:

• Release Period: The absence approval is specifically for 4th period on February 29. Leaving during 3rd period will incur a regular absence.

• Leaving School: You are free to leave school at 1:08 PM. No passes are issued, so mark your time and plan accordingly.

• CTE & Seminary Notification: If you're enrolled in 4B CTE or Seminary classes, ensure they're notified of your absence for this period.

• Parent Phone Calls: A call from a parent or guardian will not substitute the requirement for a signed activity absence form.

• Form Processing: After submission, allow up to 24 hours for your "ACT" attendance record to be updated in Powerschool.

Transportation and Tickets:

Owyhee High School is unable to provide transportation, so students will need to arrange their own rides to the Ford Idaho Center, less than a 10-minute drive from our campus. To witness history in the making, purchase your tickets online in advance at IDHSAA. Tickets are priced at $8.00 for students and $9.00 for general admission.
